Earlham College

Outstanding in both basketball and track at Earlham, Stephen Ward was named Earlham’s top male athlete in 1969 when he was bestowed the George Van Dyke Award. In basketball, Ward’s honors included All-Hoosier College Conference, All District Team, NAIA All American Honorable Mention, and Indiana Intercollegiate All Star. In track, he set college and conference records in the long jump (23'11") and the high jump (6'8"). He was Big State Champion in the long jump in 1967 and GLCA champ in the long jump and high jump in 1969.
