Carl Schneidewind participated in four sports before graduating from Earlham in 1933. He was a four-year athlete in football, basketball and track, while playing baseball for two seasons to earn 10 letters.

Schneidewind was a team captain in football and a member of the undefeated 1932-33 men's basketball team. In track, he competed in the javelin along with the shot put and was a part of the undefeated 1933 team. Schneidewind was a four-year Day Dodger, received the Charles McConnell Mental Attitude for Sports Award and served as the E-Club president in the 1960s. He later was the sports editor for the Palladium-Item in Richmond for three years and eventually retired as the circulation manager.
