Earlham College

Hugh A. Vickers earned special recognition by Earlham College’s Athletics Hall of Fame for his contributions as a student trainer and manager of the football, basketball, baseball and track teams. He is remembered by his classmates as an enthusiastic “unofficial cheerleader” who was always there for every individual in the Quaker intercollegiate athletic program. After receiving his BA degree, Vickers became a loyal Earlham alumnus and supporter of the Quaker athletics teams as a teacher in the Marion, Ind., public school system. He has been an active member of the E Club, and has served on the College’s Alumni Council and Athletics Hall of Fame selection committee. A life-long educator, Vickers has encouraged his students to follow in his footsteps by attending Earlham.
