A four-year letter winner in wrestling, John Cook posted a 64-11-1 record while at Earlham. In addition, he earned one varsity letter in football. Cook’s accomplishments are many, including the title of team MVP during the 1969-71 seasons, an undefeated season in 1970-71, Little State Champion, an outstanding wrestler in 1970 and Heartland Collegiate Conference Champion in 1968 and 1971. He was also a nationals participant for three years in the NAIA District 21 Championships. After leaving Earlham, Cook was a high school teacher and coach for 30 years. He posted a coaching record of 375-107-1 and has been inducted into the Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame.
