Rick Carter came to Earlham in the fall of 1961. During his four years at Earlham, he quarterbacked the football team to a 29-3 record. He also was captain of both the football and baseball teams and was named the College’s top scholar-athlete all in his senior year. He was named to the NAIA All-District Team as a junior and senior and received an NAIA honorable mention All-American as a senior. As head football coach at Earlham his squads compiled a 28-22-2 record. His 1970 team won the Hoosier-Buckeye Conference. He was the NAIA Area 6 Coach of the Year in 1970, 1974 and 1975. Rick received a master’s degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
