Earning National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) All-America football honors as a senior at Earlham, the four-year letterman and senior co-captain was an All-District 21 receiver and Quaker most valuable player in each of his final three years. Scott Ream held career records of 124 receptions for 1,663 yards, season records of 45 receptions for 592 yards, and a single-game mark with 11 receptions. Also playing three years of basketball, Ream was the team’s Most Inspirational Player and held the highest field-goal percentage as a sophomore. He was a recipient of the Wendell Stanley Senior Scholar-Athlete award. After graduating from Earlham, Ream earned an MD from the Ohio State University. He has been a General Internist in private practice and also served as clinical assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.
