A four-year member of the Earlham track and field and football teams, Chris Shaw earned NCAA All-America honors in 2008 after his fifth-place finish in the discus at that year's NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. A three-time NCAC discus champion in 2007, 2008, and 2009, Shaw also holds the Earlham discus record of 167-1 set in 2008. He was a six-time All-NCAC honoree in track and field between indoor (2008 & 2009) and outdoor (2007-10) seasons, and was the Most Valuable Performer in the field events at the 2009 NCAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. In 2013, Shaw was named to the NCAC All-Decade Team (2004-2013), one of only two Earlham athletes named to any of the three NCAC All-Decade teams in outdoor track. Shaw also played offensive line for the Earlham football team, earning Second Team All-NCAC honors in 2009.
