Earning a total of 10 letters in three sports at Earlham, the Centerville, Ind., native played for two of the College’s outstanding coaches – M.O. Ross and Blair Gullion. Malcolm Ruby lettered four times each in track and basketball and received two letters in football. He established records in the javelin at both the Ball State and Earlham fields. Ruby was a member of the undefeated Quaker 1932-33 men’s basketball team. He was a member of the Double E and Lettermen’s clubs. A major in English and physical education, Ruby served 42 years as a high school teacher and a coach at Fountain City (1935-37), Centerville (1937-43) and Crown Point (1943-77).
