Bruce (Bailey) Baizel was a four-year letter winner in volleyball from 1976-79. He was a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics National All-Star Team in 1977 and 1979 as he led the Quakers to appearances in the national tournament.
 
A team captain in 1978-79, Bruce earned All-MIVA honors both seasons. He was a member of the 1979 NAIA All-Star Team that toured Mexico, while earning the Wendell Stanley Senior Scholar-Athlete Award.
 
He was an assistant coach for the women's volleyball squad from 1977-79. As the head coach of the men’s team in 1982, he was named MIVA Veronee Division Coach of the Year. Bruce was a key component in establishing the Friends of Earlham Volleyball Alumni Group.
 
A Biology major while at Earlham, he now lives in Hesperus, Colo.
