As a four-year letter winner in both sports William Loucks excelled on both the football field and the basketball court. In football, he earned All-Hoosier Collegiate Conference first-team honors at right end in his junior and senior years. Loucks led the 1953 Quakers and tied for fourth among state collegiate players in scoring with seven touchdowns. That season, he was one of the 16 Indiana recipients of “MVP” honors by the Indianapolis Athletic Club. Loucks was an honorary captain on the 1954-55 Quaker team. The native of Chambersburg, Pa., also earned one letter in baseball as an outfielder. After serving three years of active duty in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, Loucks earned a law degree from the University of Florida. A lawyer for 35 years before induction, he was also president of Monaco, Smith, Hood, Perking, Loucks & Stout law firm. Louks has served for the Florida Bar in numerous offices and served on the Joint Presidential Task Force on Advertising Regulations.
