Earlham College

A four-year starter and three-year captain of the football team, James Barber set multiple school records and earned a reputation for leadership, consistency, and competitiveness on and off the field.  
 

James earned North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Second Team All-Conference honors and was named NCAC Player of the Week on Oct. 3, 1993. His many athletic honors include Rookie of the Year (1990), the Shane Smith Award (1993), Offensive Player of the Year (1993), Most Valuable Player (1993), Kiwanis Club of Richmond Player of the Year (1993), and the George Van Dyke Athletic Achievement Award for Outstanding Contributions to Earlham Athletics (1993 and 1994).
